How'd I live without it: Unroll.me

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

Happy hump day! I hope your week is going well. If you feel like it's crazy and unorganized and if you just had one more thing under control, things would be better.  Well, I have something for you.

In linking up with The B Bar's blog, "The Well" (a must-read for any and all bloggers of all levels), I was considering what was one thing that I had purchased that I now couldn't live without.  I thought of some predictable things - my computer (which, absolute game-changer), my new camera, etc., but either these purchases hadn't been made in the last year, were new enough that put it still in the probationary period, or just didn't quite make the cut as revolutionary.  Then I thought of UnRoll.Me, while was not a financial expenditure (bonus!) has me thanking the inventors and providers everyday as I open up my email.

My email used to be an absolute mess.  Nothing "hot mess" about it.  The amount of junk mail, offers, and newsletters were piling up.  Heaven forbid I missed a few days of deleting the unwanted emails and it was a gong show.  It was actually on Victoria's blog (co-founder of the B Bar) that told me about an email service called UnRoll Me.  After a simple download it takes an inventory of all of the subscriptions that you have in your email and offers three options:
- Unsubscribe
- Keep the emails in your inbox
- Add to your "Roll Up"

'

You then get one email a day at your preferred time that consolidates all of the subscriptions that you actually want to see into one email.  From there, you can click on those that you are interested in.  One "deleted" item a day, when done with it.

I'm sufficiently hooked on this and don't even want to think about the sure state of my inbox, if I didn't have this feature.  I highly recommend it!

    1. I'll definitely check back for that post you have coming.

I completely understand the need for good headphones while at school. I wish I had found them then - I am such a light sleeper so was looking into the heaviest duty ear plugs available:)
